Calvin Hedrick
Calvin is Mountain Maidu, a writer, and the Director of Policy, Training and Tribal Relations for the California Native Vote Project in Sacramento. He has spent more than 25 years working with American Indian communities in civic engagement, youth leadership, community wellness, and public policy. He is a writer whose writing explores Native identity, history, culture, and the landscapes of his Mountain Maidu homeland. Calvin studied Native American Studies at Cal Poly Humboldt and attended graduate school at the University of California, Los Angeles. He lives in the Sacramento area with his wife, Virginia, and their five children.
